Think about this:

With almost no one knowing about Tumblr, Tumblr’s growth is ridiculous right now. Almost everyone I know (outside of work) doesn’t know about them even with my blog and the blog I setup for my daughter. And of course no one I know really knows about all the great content that shows up in my dashboard from sources like NewsWeek, Sports Illustrated, Laughing Squid, or ExFM (to name just a few).

So here is my prediction:

More people will learn of Tumblr.  More people will enjoy the content on Tumblr.  Tumblr will eventually be bigger than Facebook.  This is the real social network competition… not google+/facebook, not twitter/facebook, it is Tumblr vs. Facebook in the first half of 21st Century.

All that being said: I am proud that Shelby.TV harnesses and integrates with both (that was just a plug ;)

I am trying to “get” twitter… I am starting to see the potential, but does teh “average” person really follow twitter?

perspective: I still don’t have a facebook account, because I REALLY don’t get facebook!

Twitter is where the influential people are because, hey, if you’re going to speak, might as well do it in a place where everybody is automatically allowed to hear you.
